3D PRINTING MASKS
Providing Reusable PPE for Medical Workers
FABLAB and Team ZEVA are teaming up with 2 surgeons to provide masks for medical workers. Through friends of friends and timely introductions, Stephen Tibbitts from FabLab connected with Danny and Jason (shown) who are surgeons near Tacoma, WA. “The most pressing need is to deliver basic PPE (personal protective equipment) to the workers that are face to face with COVID-19” said Jason. The groups collectively looked at several options and decided to start with the “Montana Mask”. It is reusable and uses low-cost filter elements.
Be A Part of the Solution
FabLab and ZEVA members all over the Puget Sound are using their 3D printers to print the masks as well as a plurality of printers at FabLab Tacoma. The first goal was to provide 50 masks to Madigan Army Medical Center and now we are partnering with local businesses to expand our efforts. We are looking to use 3D printing to make tooling for short-run injection molding.
